Help give a name to Brussels' new canal bridge
A new bridge over the Brussels canal is seeking a name - and you have until Thursday evening to make your suggestion.
Public works body Beliris is building a bridge that will link Boulevard Simon Bolivar, near the Gare du Nord, with Avenue du Port in Tour & Taxis.
It is seeking name ideas that have some connection to the neighbourhood and its history, or with transport.
The name should work in both French and Dutch - and if it is the name of a historical figure then it should preferably be a woman.
So far about 200 people have commented. Naturally, the suggestions include Bridgey McBridgeface.
The deadline for ideas is Thursday (27 June). A shortlist will then be drawn up and put to a public vote from 1-4 July.
The result will be announced the following day and construction work is due to begin in the autumn.
