HMV music shop is coming to Brussels
British retailer HMV is opening a new music shop in Brussels on 12 April in the City2 shopping centre on Rue Neuve.
HMV has shops in the UK, Ireland, Japan and Antwerp, Belgium. It was founded in 1921, when it was known as His Master's Voice, after the famous Francis Barraud painting.
Brussels will host HMV's second shop in all of continental Europe, Bruzz reports, selling a wide range of CDs, vinyl records and merchandise.
“We hope our customers will not only see that we’re committed to becoming the best music destination in town, but also see that we’ve worked on our offering to provide ranges they’ll not find anywhere else under one roof,” said managing director Phill Halliday.
The new branch will have an area of 585m², almost double the size of the shop in Wijnegem (Antwerp).
Opening day will feature multiple special offers, including a free pop culture goodie bag to the first 100 people who make a purchase.
