New Brussels restaurant provides dining in the dark
A new restaurant has opened in Brussels which provides diners with the experience of eating in the dark.
By restricting what they can see, customers at Dans le Noir can fully concentrate their senses of taste, touch and smell on their food. The restaurant’s owners say that this delivers ‘an unforgettable culinary experience’.
"We want everyone to fully enjoy all the different flavours, without distractions,” the restaurant's website reads. “And it's best in the dark. It makes for a culinary experience that can't be compared to anything previously."
The new restaurant, which is in the five-star Hotel Warwick in the Rue Duquesnoy, is the latest Dans le Noir to open. Similar establishments have been opened in Cairo, St Petersburg, Madrid, London and Paris.
As well as providing an unusual twist to dining, the restaurant also attaches great importance to its ecological footprint. "We only use ingredients from sustainable production methods,” says chef Grégory Lauwaert.
