New co-working cafe opens in Ixelles
Following a trend that already exists in France, Russia and the US, Belgium now has its own pay-per-hour cafe, reports brusselnieuws.be. At Café La Récré in Ixelles, customers don't pay according to what they consume but by how long they spend there. The first hour costs €4, during which time customers can order as many hot drinks, water and snacks as they like. After that, it costs €0.50 for each additional 10 minutes.
The founders are two French filmmakers who decided to open up their workspace to the public, focusing specifically on the needs of the flexi-worker or creative freelancer. But Belgium’s first pay-per-hour cafe is open to anyone who just wants to relax and have a cup of coffee.
Holders of a €300 monthly subscription can also make use of the in-house jacuzzi.
