Win a weekend pass to the Brussels Ideas Festival
The Ideas Festival returns to Brussels this winter for its fourth edition from 28 to 30November.
Full Circle House in Ixelles is the meeting place for thought-provoking ideas, stimulating conversations and original activities under this year’s theme: 'Resist’.
Amid the noise and overwhelm, the constant buzz of notifications, geopolitical chaos and stress of everyday life, the event is an opportunity to reflect on ways to resist and change directions.
The Ideas Festival is the alternative to a world in business-as-usual mode. It invites audiences from Brussels and beyond to challenge existing narratives, spark imagination/action and contemplate alternatives to the current socio-political, economic and cultural landscape.
Participants will immerse themselves in a rich programme offering original formats and fresh thinking, with music, delicious food and revitalising gong bath breaks. International thinkers and doers take to the stage to share their insights on different topical subjects to spark meaningful, deep conversations among the public.
Among invited speakers are renowned economic historian Robert Skidelsky, award-winning Arab-Israeli journalist Rachel Shabi, Professor of Literature & the Environment David Farrier, philosopher Julian Baggini, climate & sustainability scientist Kimberly Nicholas and Belgian journalist & author Tine Hens. Engaged Brussels-based hosts complete the picture with not to be missed interactive, original sessions throughout the weekend - on peace, fair tech, activism, the media & resistance.
Together, invited speakers and local hosts will cover a diverse range of subjects, from global food philosophy to European rearmament, social media design, radical human evolution, peace and solidarity, climate resistance and more. For those keen to use all their senses, new this year is a creative art session, a fair-tech design workshop, a philosopher lunch and interactive guided conversations.
Once again, the Ideas Festival will host the Creative Writing Contest. Original entries across fiction, non-fiction and poetry can be submitted until 23 November.
The Weekend Pass grants access to all activities throughout the weekend. Single Day passes are also available. All events are ticketed. Some events are free and open to all (registration required).
