One-quarter of voters still undecided
Depending on the region, one-quarter to one-fifth of voters in Belgium are still undecided in the last days before the federal election on Sunday, May 25.
In the latest entrance poll by global market research company Ipsos, the Flemish nationalist party N-VA, led by Bart De Wever (pictured), dropped just below 30%. With 29.8% of the expected votes, the party still has a significant lead, but has 3% fewer votes than in the previous poll in April.
After N-VA, the Flemish Christian Democrats (CD&V) holds the second position, with 17.1%, while the Flemish Socialist Party (SP.A) remains with 15% just ahead of the Flemish Liberals Open VLD (14.2%). Flemish far right party Vlaams Belang has 8.8% of voter sympathy, similar to green party Groen on 8.4%.
The Socialist Party (PS) remains the largest in Wallonia, and the Reformist Movement (MR) the largest in Brussels.
