Public transport disruption on Friday due to Stib strike
A strike at Brussels public transport operator Stib on 9 October is likely to result in disruption to the network.
There will be a national demonstration in the capital that day. Some staff will be taking part and the march itself may cause some lines to be temporarily suspended or stations to close.
Stib does not yet know exactly how much disruption there will be or which lines will be affected.
The transport company said that it would do everything it can to ensure at least some services run and will keep its passengers informed in real time about the situation on the network.
At the same time, Stib is encouraging people to seek alternative ways of getting around the city on that day, if possible.
There may also be disruption on Monday 12 October due to a national protest by public sector workers.
News will be updated in real time via the Stib website and app, the screens at stops and in stations, Facebook, Instagram and its WhatsApp channel.
On Friday and Monday, passengers can also contact the Stib customer service team from 6.00 via Facebook, Instagram or by telephone on 02 563 89 17.
