Six Brussels sex shops shut down for selling drugs

14:51 19/08/2025

Brussels police have shut down six sex shops in the capital after inspections found they were illegally selling drugs, including Viagra.

The closures came after a targeted operation meant to crack down on such illegal drug sales, Bruzz reports.

Five of the sex shops had already been inspected at the end of July.

Several offences were identified and almost €30,000 in cash was seized as part of the recent operation.

Related house searches also resulted in six arrests.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Brussels public prosecutor's ofice, the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca), the National Social Security Office (NSSO), the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) and the finance ministry.
