Stromae to release film about his cancelled tour
Belgian artist Stromae has announced the impending release of a film about his Multitude tour, which was cancelled because of struggles with burnout and depression.
Stromae announced the film in a post on Instagram, explaining that it features footage from the shows that did take place in 2023 and will be available for free.
“First and foremost, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say 'thank you' to all of you for your ongoing support – I was deeply moved by the kindness and empathy you expressed after I had to cancel the last leg of the tour,” Stromae wrote in the post.
“I know that this came as a disappointment for some, and I hoped to end the amazing journey that Multitude has been on a more positive note.
"That is why my team and I carefully went through the long process of collecting and editing all the available visual material related to the live show into a movie.
"I wanted to give you the opportunity to freely enjoy the performance for the first time or to experience it again."
The post was the first public announcement regarding the tour since it was cancelled in May last year.
The singer has yet to specify a release date for the film, but said that "more info will follow".
