Air China to launch routes from Brussels
Chinese national airline Air China will fly to Brussels Airport from the end of March, offering regular flights to Beijing and Chengdu.
The route from Brussels to Beijing was already offered by Hainan Airlines.
Chengdu, central China, formerly only served by cargo flights, will be a new destination for Brussels.
With 21 million inhabitants, it is China’s fifth largest city. The capital of Sichuan province, Brussels Airport said it was known for its gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and a research centre for giant pandas.
From 24 March, Air China will operate daily flights between Brussels and Beijing. Starting on 26 March, it will fly three times a week to Chengdu.
Air China is the third Chinese airline to land in Zaventem. Hainan Airlines already offered flights to Shenzhen, Chongqing and Shanghai, as well as to Beijing.
In addition, Juneyao Air flies directly to Shanghai, while Cathay Pacific connects Brussels to Hong Kong.
