Apéros Urbains to cease activity after 12 years

The organiser of Brussels' Apéros Urbains has gone into liquidation, after 12 years of organising open-air afterwork parties.

The apéros were a popular summer fixture, with a pop-up bar, food and live music in a different Brussels park every Friday evening from May to September.

Administrators agreed unanimously to wind up the non-profit association "given its poor financial situation", according to minutes from a recent meeting. A liquidator has been appointed.

According to Le Soir newspaper, the organisers hope to develop a new concept in time for the summer season.
