Nearly 1.5 million viewers for Belgium friendly win
Flemish television station VTM on Sunday booked its highest ever viewer ratings for a football friendly during the match between France and Belgium. On average about 1.498 million viewers tuned in to watch Belgium beat France in Paris with 3-4.
With nearly 1.5 million viewers, the match is VTM’s most watched friendly since the introduction of the current measuring system in 1997. Friendly games last year drew on average between 1 and 1.2 million viewers. The most recent qualifying match earlier this year got 1.7 million viewers, so far VTM’s highest score of 2015.
VTM only surpassed the 1 million viewers mark three other times this year, with comedy show Tegen de Sterren op (1.302 million) and talent show Belgium's Got Talent (1.118 million) drawing the highest number.
