Brussels’ Midi fair 2026 expected to attract over one million visitors

Inscribed on the list of Unesco World Heritage Sites since 2024, the 146th edition of the Foire du Midi is expected to attract over one million visitors.

Open until 23 August, its downtown site is spread over 1km and  and employs some 500 fairground workers. The fair offers a variety of experiences for fairground goers with 123 attractions and stalls.

Its motto for 2026 is, We will all, all, all go to the Foire du Midi, which riffs on the Belgian cult-classic Torremolinos by the band Sttellla whose chorus goes We will all, all, all go to Torremolinos. The band’s singer, Jean-Luc Fonck, is the patron of this year’s edition of the fair, having strongly expressed his admiration for the fairground tradition.

Among new features, people with reduced mobility can now access the iconic Royal Wheel thanks to a recent redesign. The carriages are now fully enclosed, providing optimal safety while passengers take in panoramic views of the city.

Other additions include a four storey Hawaiian inspired ride called ‘Tiki Ville’ and a haunted house called the ‘Horror Show’, set up in shipping containers near Avenue Stalingrad.

The fair is also reputed for its traditional fare such as steaming bowls of mussels, fries and deep fried sweet treats, croustillons.

On 12 August, as per tradition, 360 disabled, sick or disadvantaged children will be invited for a special day out at the fair, organised by the fairground operators and the primary charity sponsor Make A Wish.
