Belgium's Strongest Man holds on to title

Jimmy 'the Belgian Beast' Laureys was again crowned Strongest Man in Belgium for the sixth year in a row during the annual event in his hometown of Sint-Niklaas, Antwerp province. Laureys was unstoppable throughout all proofs of the competition, including the car deadlift. For this, participants must lift a car as many times as possible; Laureys lifted a car six times. It was the last year that the Strongest Man election took place in Sint-Niklaas; Next year the event will be held in Lokeren, East Flanders. The 32-year-old powerlifter is expected to continue competing for at least the next couple of years.
