Record number of visitors to Brussels Summer Festival
The 13th edition of the Brussels Summer Festival (BSF) was the most successful so far, with a total of 125,000 festival goers coming to the centre of Brussels for the ten-day festival.
"We are very pleased with the massive turnout," says festival director Denis Gérardy. "We sold 20,000 '10-day' passes, compared to 15,000 last year. And another 25,000 tickets sold were ‘one-day’ passes."
Next year, the organisors will stick to the same success formula in the city centre, but will look to add a stage at Museumplein/Place du Musée as well, featuring jazz and classical music concerts. "We are also still looking for a venue in the city centre for rock concerts," said Gérardy.
For the concerts on the main stage at the Paleizenplein/Place des Palais, the BSF wants to improve the audience experience. "It's a difficult location, but we are working hard to increase visibility and accessibility for festival-goers."
