Up in the air! Balloon Museum immersive experience opens at Brussels Expo on 11 October

20:14 30/09/2024

The appetite for immersive experiences appears unsatiable with a new museum ready to launch in the capital.

After Impressionist and Surrealist art, bubbles and optical illusions, it is now inflatable art that is being given the immersive treatment.

The Balloon Museum exhibition EmotionAir will be filling a 7,000m2 space of Brussels Expo from 11 October to 26 January.

It promises to be an interactive, immersive, multi-sensory journey “exploring the profound relationship between art and human emotions”.

Consisting of 20 monumental artworks by internationally renowned artists, the show has already been staged in cities around Europe and the US.

Like all ‘immersive’ experiences, the Balloon Museum offers visitors the opportunity to touch and interact with its contents. Each installation offers a different creative space and each is designed to spark a variety of emotions.

The timing of the exhibition is clearly intended to chime with the autumn and winter school holidays. This is above all a family experience that also happens to be Instagram-friendly. It even featured in the last season of the Netflix series Emily in Paris, so there’s little doubt this show is perfect for those social media snaps!

Tickets are priced from €15. Reservations here.
