Brussels Muzieque concert by jazz maestro Lars Danielsson on 30 June
Bringing its successful season to a close, the Brussels Muzique collaborative stages its flagship jazz concert in the grand hall of the Royal Conservatory on 30 June.
Jazz maestro Lars Danielsson will be performing his own composition with Brussels Muzieque’s Chamber Jazz Consort, promising a rich fusion of classical and jazz melodies.
The concert is a tribute to Danielsson's exploration of intertwining jazz compositions with the nuances of chamber music. In a rich lineage tracing back to classical cello, Danielsson's foray into jazz bass showcases his tenacity for exploring new musical horizons. The Swedish jazz star has several CD recordings to his name and more than 100,000 listeners a month on Spotify.
Meanwhile, the Consort is releasing its first CD during this end-of-season concert. The ensemble is a testament to Brussels Muzieque's commitment to blending musical genres. It combines captivating performances with an extensive repertoire that traverses the vast world of swing to contemporary jazz, showcasing their ability to unite the grandeur of classical strings with the emotional depth of jazz.
The ensemble boasts talents like Sarah Oates, concertmaster of the Ballet Orchestra Amsterdam; Nadja Nevolovitsch, violin professor at the Hochschule fûr Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne); Oene van Geel, multi-prize winner jazz violist and professor of composition at Artez Conservatorium; Eduardo Tonietto, Brussels Muzieque's cellist and artistic director; and Anton Jakimenko, jazz clarinettist based in Amsterdam and pedagogical coordinator at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
This special concert is repeated in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on 1 July.
