The Bulletin has pairs of tickets to give away for the shows at Plume Persée in Ixelles

Funny Women Brussels stages Mis(S)Labelled by Estonian comic Heli Pärna on 30 March and 6 April at the Plume Persée in Ixelles, as well as 3 May at the Amai Comedy Club in Ghent.

Irish comedian and MC Niamh Moroney delivers the opening act for the three Belgian shows before the pair head off on a European tour.

Brussels-based Pärna puts her home country Estonia firmly on the map in her one-hour solo show Mis(S)Labelled “because no one knows where it is…”.

In her bare-all conversational style, she takes the audience on her journey exploring cultural stereotypes, heartbreak and crazy pick up lines with questions such as “is there one common Eastern European stereotype?” and “can feminism be flexible?”

Under its former title The Adventures of the White Unicorn, Pärna has performed her solo show in Tallinn, Geneva, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Among the reviews she garnered in Edinburgh was the comment: “Heli is a fantastic comedian with a hilarious, smart and heartfelt show about expat life and womanhood. Highly recommended!”

Pärna also runs and hosts the bi-weekly Funny Women Brussels show. Off stage, she likes to read, watch anything by Mike Flanagan, travel and submit short stories “just to keep the rejection muscle going”.
