Skate park opens in Bois de la Cambre for second summer in row
Urban sports fans can enjoy thrill rides at BXL S’Ket Park in Bois de la Cambre for the second year in a row, reports Bruzz.
The 500m² park in Avenue de la Sapinière is a facility for skateboarders, BMX riders and roller skaters. It’s open until 25 September.
For the new season, the skate park has been extended and given a facelift, including the redesign of recycled ramps.
"This skate park could be built because most of the Bois de la Cambre was reserved for pedestrians, cyclists and runners, freeing up space in this busy green zone," said sports alderman Benoit Hellings (Ecolo), who added that the city recognised the growing interest in urban sports.
"We have taken into account the comments and suggestions of the users and the sports community to improve the park and make it accessible to as many people as possible."
