Culture beat: 30 October

10:37 30/10/2015
Survive the darkening nights with these Halloween and holiday activities….

The leisure pool complex Océade at Heysel offers swimmers a scary Halloween experience until Sunday. Every day at 15.00 the pool’s water turns into a red bloodbath. Fear not, the pool says it uses a 100% natural colourant. Meanwhile, in the centre of the city, the ghosts of Brussels’ past appear as light falls in a deadly walk in the Royal Park on Saturday at 16.00 (reservation recommended). If dressing up tickles your fancy, a Michael Jackson Thriller-themed Halloween Experience is a public dance at Place de la Bourse, Grand‘Place and Mont des Arts from 14.00. Why not stay in costume for a Halloween party at the Hard Rock Café in the Grand‘Place from 19.00 to 1.00. Alternatively, head to La Tentation in Rue de Laeken for Radio Modern’s Haunted Halloween Edition. Don’t forget that you may need to adjust your scary costumes as retro-party organiser Radio Modern specialises in 1940s and 50s style and ambiance. Afterwork party peeps @seven are preparing to scare in a Haunted Halloween Costume Ball tonight 30 October at Bouche à Oreille where the fun starts from 19.00. Dinner by reservation, costume awards at 21.30 and DJ ball from 22.00.
