Brussels setting for new Michael Roskam film
For the production of his latest film Le Fidèle (The Faithful), Belgian director Michael R. Roskam is in Brussels over the next few months to shoot numerous scenes from the movie. It is his third feature film after Bullhead and The Drop. The first released image from his new film (pictured) shows actors Adèle Exarchopoulos and Matthias Schoenaerts during a scene at Brussels' Place Poelaert, writes Bruzz.
Le Fidèle began shooting in late April and is expected to continue until mid-July, during which time the crew will most often be working in Brussels. "Michael just found so many cool locations here that lend themselves perfectly to the atmosphere needed for the film," some members of the crew told Bruzz.
Schoenaerts plays the enigmatic Gino who falls in love with the rich race car driver Bénédicte, but their relationship is put to the test by Gino's dubious past. The Belgian-French-Dutch co-production is scheduled for release in 2017.
